Role Overview
NHS Lothian is excited to be recruiting a HCSW / Phlebotomist at Strathbrock Partnership & across West Lothian to support GP practices in Long Term Condition management by obtaining blood samples from patients by venepuncture.
Responsibilities
* Obtain blood samples for laboratory testing, ensuring correct labeling and adherence to Divisional Protocols, Policies and Procedures.
* Measure and record BP, pulse, height, weight (biometrics) in patient records using EMIS or Vision.
* Support GP practices and Community Nursing Teams, including assisting nursing staff in treatment rooms, district nursing teams and administering vaccinations in line with local and national guidance.
* Manage cold chain and order stock when required.
* Provide cover in the absence of nursing/medical staff to ensure collections are taken.
Requirements
* Valid PVG Scheme membership or proof of satisfactory clearance for the required regulatory group.
