Residing on the corner of Chorlton Street and Canal Street, MAYA has transformed a Manchester Warehouse into three storeys of elevated dining, cocktails and party indulgence. From a canal-side bistro space serving modern-European classics to a lower ground-floor, elegantly designed dining room that will centre around an ingredient-led, locally sourced and seasonal menu.
The Role:
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver exceptional food and ensure the smooth running of kitchen operations. You will be involved in menu development, staff training and maintaining high standards of quality and food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Head Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, maintaining smooth service during peak service.
* Lead and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and continuous learning.
* Ensure the consistent execution of dishes to MAYA restaurant standards in presentation and timing.
* Support in ordering, stock control and minimising food waste to maintain cost efficiency and sustainability.
* Maintain clear communication with front of house and other department to ensure seamless guest experience.
