Job overview A caring and compassionate individual is sought to provide visiting care support for Colin, a 79-year-old gentleman with dementia who has recently undergone partial hip replacement surgery. This permanent, part-time role offers approximately 6-8 hours per week and focuses on supporting Colin's personal care needs whilst providing friendly companionship and engaging conversation. The ideal candidate will be a positive, chatty person with strong listening skills who can help brighten Colin's day through meaningful interaction and activities. Key responsibilities The carer will visit Colin's home and undertake the following responsibilities: • Support with hygiene and toileting needs • Provide friendly companionship and engage in conversation • Support Colin's involvement in activities he enjoys, such as watching sport on television and listening to concert performances About the client AGE: 79 years old MEDICAL CONDITIONS: Dementia ADDITIONAL HEALTH INFORMATION: Colin has recently undergone partial hip replacement surgery and currently has very limited mobility as a result. INTERESTS: Colin enjoys watching sport on television and listening to music artists perform in concerts. Work environment Colin's home is smoke-free and he is a pet owner. This role does not include pet care responsibilities. Requirements LANGUAGE: Fluent English (required) PERSONAL QUALITIES: • Polite, friendly and approachable demeanor • Excellent listening skills • Positive outlook with the ability to lighten the mood • Proactive in engaging the client in activities and meaningful conversations QUALIFICATIONS: • Care Quality Commission (CQC) mandatory training • Care Certificate Working pattern Permanent, part-time position offering 6-8 hours per week.
