Employee Relations Advisory Services Team Leader

Job reference 329434. Permanent, full time, 35 hours per week. Location: Royal Mail, Pond Street, Sheffield, S98 6HR – hybrid working with office presence 2/3 days per week. Salary: Competitive salary, 10% annual bonus potential, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays rising with service, and a company pension scheme with highly competitive contribution rates.

This role offers opportunities within the Employee Relations Team for a Team Leader, with a focus on complex ER matters in a fast-paced environment. The team leads the delivery of ER advice and case management to line managers across the organisation, in support of positive employee relations.

About The Role

We are seeking a capable leader to manage and develop a team of ER Policy Advisors, ensuring high-quality ER advice and case management across a wide range of complex and sensitive people management issues including attendance, performance, conduct, raising concerns, Equality Act, capability, and other employee relations matters.


Responsibilities

* Lead, coach and develop a team of ER Policy Advisors to deliver high quality ER advice and case management support to line managers at all levels across the organisation on complex and sensitive people management issues (attendance, performance, conduct, raising concerns, Equality Act, capability, and other ER matters).
* Manage the delivery of the advice line and case management services, including workload allocation and service performance, ensuring compliance with SLAs and quality standards.
* Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
* Provide expert input on complex people matters, ensuring appropriate risk management.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with HR CofE teams, HR Business Partners, Legal and other key stakeholders to ensure delivery of an effective and efficient service.
* Reporting into the ER Advisory Services Manager; collaborate with wider HR teams and stakeholders to address complex ER matters and trends.
* Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the ER Advisory Service.


About You

To excel in this role, you will possess and be able to evidence the following skills and experience:

* Experience of leading HR/Employee Relations teams to deliver business needs and targets.
* Analytical skills to interpret data, inform resourcing decisions, spot enquiry trends and use insights to inform service improvements.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team.
* CIPD qualified.
* Strong interpersonal skills with a deep understanding of employment laws and regulations and HR best practices.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence.
* Ability to work in partnership with customers/stakeholders.
* Experience of driving a continuous improvement culture.
