FOSTER CARE ASSOCIATES (THE FCA) – Senior/Supervising Social Worker
Full time, Permanent. Basic Salary: Up to £34,324.62 per annum, dependent on experience.

* Location: Homebased. The team is based in Worcestershire, supporting foster parents across Birmingham, Dudley, Walsall and Sandwell.
* Occasional travel to Bromsgrove and surrounding West Midlands areas required.

Duties Will Include
* Support foster parents to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in foster care.
* Support and monitor the suitability and competence of foster parents, ensuring a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment.
* Ensure carers fully understand fostering tasks, competencies, standards, complaints and representation procedures as set out in FCA policies.
* Provide and record regular supervision to allocated foster parents in line with FCA’s Operational Standards.
* Work in partnership as a team parenting approach to identify any needs within the foster family (e.g., respite, activities, therapy, holidays) and contribute to relevant meetings.
* Ensure each child and foster parent are fully compliant with all key documentation.
* Attend meetings and/or provide reports for Commissioning Teams to address individual care packages.
* Promote participation of children/young people in the development of the agency and in accessing local community resources and opportunities.
* Participate in an out‑of‑hours support service on a rota basis.
* Undertake occasional initial home visits and Form F assessments.
YOU MUST HAVE
* A social work qualification.
* Professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
* Proven ability to produce a high‑standard report.
* Comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
* The willingness and ability to travel extensively (including occasional nights away).
* Confidence with transporting children and young people in occasionally stressful/difficult situations.
* Full driving licence.
