Our Client are an established D&B fit out business based in Central London. With strong growth plans for the next few years, they are looking to hire a Assistant Commercial Manager to support their Commercial teams. They have recently promoted their Graduate who will be running their own jobs so are hiring to backfill their recent role. They were involved in multiple fit out projects, learning closely from their peers so if you are keen to learn, be involved on live projects and develop your experience through shadowing and supporting this is a fantastic opportunity for you.
Duties
* Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents
* Support the measurement and valuation of works (both pre- and post-contract)
* Help manage subcontractor procurement, including obtaining and analysing quotations
* Monitor project costs and track variations against the budget
* Assist in the preparation of interim valuations and final accounts
* Support contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
* Work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to provide cost advice
* Maintain accurate records of financial and contractual data
* Assist in risk management and value engineering exercises
* Contribute to reporting on project financial performance.
Key Requirements
* Degree or working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
* Previous experience in a similar role or construction environment (placement/internship acceptable)
* Basic understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT or NEC)
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Eagerness to learn and develop within the construction/commercial field
* Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
* Working towards or interest in professional accreditation (e.g., RICS)
