Relevant context
A fast growing Energy & Commodities trading company is embarking on a transition from a CTRM-centric technology architecture to a data-centric model, termed as the Digital Data Hub (DDH), to enhance scalability and stability. The first phase involves the integration of a new event-based, near real-time Risk system called Topaz.
The primary objectives for include decoupling from the existing CTRM system (Allegro) and establishing a long-term, purpose-built platform to seamlessly, quickly, and cost-effectively integrate multiple systems, services, and business operations in the future.
In this role, the contract Automation test engineer will be responsible for developing and delivering automated quality assurance to the production software. Additionally, they will contribute to the quality assurance process throughout the project.
Responsibilities of the Contract Automation QA:
* Collaborate within a diverse team of consultants, contractors, and permanent engineers through the iterative development phases of the Allegro to Topaz derivatives integration project.
* Engage in the development of various test automation frameworks targeting web applications, thin client, microservices, real-time data processors, data analytics/visualizations reports.
* Ensure the automation test frameworks and tests are aligned with the existing programme test automation strategy and designs throughout the development process.
* Implement robust automation test techniques, emphasising automation to enhance efficiency, maintain quality, and boost productivity aiding continuous integration and deployment.
* Engage in quality assurance process including actively providing inputs to the detailed test design and plan, a level of manual testing, defect management and reporting for the programme.
* Actively maintain automation framework solutions and automated regression pack.
* Actively contribute to the sprint activities including inputs to the sprint planning, retrospective and daily standup. Engage with the BA’s in sprints to refine business requirements in to auto tests and actively contribute to the overall automation test strategy.
Experience required of the Automation QA:
* Experience in automated software testing across agile delivery, regression, SIT and UAT.
* Experience using C# / .net scripting for UI automation and microservices.
* Experience using .net UI automation of ‘Windows Automation’ frameworks for thin client automation.
* Experience using Specflow BDD frameworks.
* Experience in Test/Keywork/Excel driven automation frameworks.
* Experience using nunit, log4net, .net libraries, webservices and API frameworks.
* Exposure to non-functional testing.
* Test experience in commodity trading.
* Experience in git version control.
* Experience working with Azure dev ops.
* Experience of working in Agile and Waterfall delivery model.
* Good SQL querying and scripting experience, backend test experience.
* Exposure / experience in cosmos dB and azure event hub.
* in data quality assurance around Data Lake, Data bricks and ETL.
* Exposure working with Power BI.
* Knowledge and experience of implementing test best practice.
