Reporting to the Project Manager the successful multi-trade operative will take on the role of supporting the London Branch Works Department with their ongoing works and variety of projects of a construction and refurbishment nature.
Due to the nature of our varied projects, works can be nationwide and require flexible working hours. Project sizes will vary from large projects working within a team or smaller projects with pairs or solo working. These projects will include public sector, health sector, educational sector, retail, social housing, prisons, police stations, care homes, undertaking breakdowns and installation works.
The primary role of this multi-disciplined operative will be ensuring that the allocated projects are run efficiently and profitably ensuring full compliance to Health & Safety legislation and contract conditions. The most critical conditions being that all work is completed to a high standard, in a safe working manner, within programme and to the total satisfaction of our client.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
All aspects associated with a qualified NVQ Level 2 (in chosen trade) multi-disciplined operative with proven experience of working within a similar environment.
Utilise your expertise in carpentry and other trade skills to contribute to various construction projects.
Execute tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
Collaborate with our team to deliver outstanding results on time and within budget.
Assist in supervising some of our small-medium sized jobs.
Ensure all work is completed within the specified timescales.
Adhere to current Health & Safety legislation and undertake works in accordance with safe working practices.
Be an ambassador for the organisation whilst undertaking works on site.
Ensure effective communication between the client and the office/supervisor/manager.
Report any issues or concerns to your manager or supervisor in respect to the project or task you are working on to ensure there are no delays in completion so as not to encounter any contract penalty clauses.
Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the client’s requirements/specifications.
Carry out works to the required standard whilst using sustainable resources and being environmentally conscious.
We undertake contracts and projects for varied companies that require our employees to undertake several clearances along with an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service clearance.

This is a full time position (39 hours) and hours of work will be:
07:45hrs to 16:30hrs Monday – Thursday
07:45hrs to 15:30hrs Friday
This will also involve daily travel and possible working away and unsociable hours from time to time as deemed necessary for the needs of the business.
Essential Requirements
Minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or other relevant qualification.
Proven experience of multi skills such as basic plumbing, plastering, brickwork etc
Proven experience of working within a similar environment
Competent in Health & Safety legislation and compliance
Self-motivated and proactive
Positive attitude and the ability to integrate and be an active part in the team
Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines
You must hold a full current UK driving licence and have had 6 months driving experience since passing your test.
Successful applicants are required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, MOJ CTC clearance, MOD vetting clearance and enhanced police clearance.

CSCS Card
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a further chosen trade
SSSTS/SMSTS or IOSH Managing/Working Safely
