Join to apply for the CYP Education Mental Health Practitioner EMHP/CYPWP role at Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Wirral Mental Health Support Team (MHST). We have 3 posts available within the team, working across four locations within Wirral, collaborating closely with education settings and professionals supporting children, young people, and their families.
The Band 5 Education Mental Health Practitioner/CYPWP will provide information, advice and guidance through consultation, training, direct work with children and young people, and their parents or caregivers, delivering evidence‑based interventions.
Professional registration with a recognised national body (BPS, BABCP) is required, or the successful candidate must obtain registration within 6 months of the start date. Candidates who do not hold registration will be recruited on a six‑month fixed‑term contract to allow time for registration, after which the contract will be amended to permanent.
The role is full‑time. We accept applications from Trainee EMHPs. The planned shortlisting date is 30 Dec 25, with interviews scheduled for 5 Jan 26.
The post-holder will work within the CHERISH mental health support team and provide a range of assessment and interventions on an individual and wider systems basis, under close clinical supervision from experienced staff. Regular case management and clinical supervision, both individual and group, will be a key aspect of the role.
The post-holder will deliver low‑intensity CBT interventions for children, young people, and parents/carers in 1:1 and group settings.
