Interim Engineering Procurement Category Manager (Inside IR35)
Role Overview:
This interim role supports the organisation's engineering and operational teams by delivering effective procurement outcomes across a technically complex spend portfolio, focusing on delivery, compliance, and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver category management activity across: E
ngineering, spare parts, MRO spend and gas and electricity commodities
2. Support procurement of spare parts for a large fleet of commercial vehicles
3. Execute sourcing activity in line with internal policies
4. Manage supplier performance and support continuity of supply
5. Work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and finance stakeholders
6. Support cost control, value-for-money, and risk mitigation initiatives
7. Ensure procurement activity aligns with governance, audit, and compliance requirements
8. Provide clear reporting on activity, savings, and supplier performance
Skills & Experience Required
9. Demonstrable experience in engineering procurement or category management
10. Strong knowledge of direct and indirect engineering spares / MRO
11. Exposure to energy procurement (gas and electricity) advantageous
12. Strong stakeholder engagement and delivery-focused mindset
13. Ability to operate effectively within an inside IR35 interim assignment
