Job Description
Our client a large and well known defence/military company BAE Systems are actively looking to hire an Assistant Financial Accountant to be based from their offices in Scotland.
Location: Dunfermline, Scotland
Day Rate: upto £25.48phr (Umbrella / Inside IR35)
Duration: 7 Months Maternity Cover
Days Worked: Monday to Thursday Office - Fridays from Home
Role Description:
1. Prepare contract status report (CSR's) for all contracts less than <£1m
2. Chair review of these reports with Project management function
3. Raising invoice requests
4. Reconciliations of projects and project closure.
5. Update all deliverable data
6. Run, update and copy over macros
7. Support Project Accounting Manager
Core Duties:
Typical duties include (but are not limited to):
8. Ensure integrity of the data contained within the projects.
9. Maintain and update all trading on the Manufacturing suite of projects.
10. Project portfolio reviews.
11. Monthly journal vouchers.
12. Reconcile data through thorough understanding of interfaces to and from financial systems.
13. Initiate improvements to reporting mechanisms to extract maximum benefit from the reporting applications.
14. Analysis of the SSR within BPC, keep budgets and comments up to date
15. Ad hoc reports analysis as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:
16. Finance experience
17. Awareness SAP
18. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft suite
19. Continuous improvement drive
Skills:
20. Business Systems experience (SAP/BPC)
21. Commercial awareness beneficial e.g. to support bid process
22. Identifying risks and opportunities on the project
Qualifications:
23. Part qualified accountant who is currently studying for professional exams or qualified by experience within a project environment and advantage or Qualified by Experience.
24. Previous experience may have been as an Accounting Assistant in the Project Job Family or may have experience in financial accounting, financial reporting or management accounting either at the Assistant Accountant level or at Accountant Assistant level.
