Morson are looking for a Stores Manager based at our defence client's Cambridge site. You will oversee all warehouse and materials management activities, ensuring the efficient flow, storage, and dispatch of parts and equipment. You'll lead a team of 20 Store Handlers, maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and compliance across all operations. Working closely with internal departments and suppliers, you'll help ensure materials are available when needed to support production and project delivery. This role combines hands-on supervision with continuous improvement, providing a key link between logistics, quality, and operation

Responsibilities in this role include:
- Manage the import and export of goods, ensuring compliance with clearance procedures and avoiding delivery delays.
- Oversee the timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of parts, materials, and tooling to meet internal and external customer needs.
- Supervise, coach, and support Store Handlers, including handling performance, training, and attendance.
- Represent the Stores team (or delegate appropriately) in Integrated Project Team (IPT) meetings and Tier reviews.
- Maintain accurate stock and inventory records in IFS, including cycle counts, shelf-life control, and correct documentation.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve delivery, component, or documentation issues.
- Ensure tooling and equipment are available, maintained, and calibrated to required standards in collaboration with the Quality Department.
- Manage the handling and storage of dangerous goods in line with regulations.
- Monitor environmental conditions (temperature/humidity) and ensure safe, compliant storage practices.
- Drive continuous improvement by reviewing and refining processes, guidelines, and KPIs.
- Ensure all parts are accepted, returned, and disposed of in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Uphold company procedures and maintain high housekeeping standards within the Stores area.
- Report and escalate material or delivery issues that could impact operations, proposing corrective actions.

- Proven experience in purchasing, warehousing, stockroom, or materials handling.
- Knowledge of parts, materials, and related terminology.
- Understanding of human factors, performance, and limitations.
- Experience with logistics and supply chain processes.
- Strong computer skills, with the ability to use or learn MS Office and web-based systems.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills to manage workloads across multiple projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
This role is an initial 7 months with a possibility of extension or the role may evolve. Inside IR35 PAYE and umbrella rates apply.
