Are you a passionate and inspiring Teacher of Art with a desire to nurture creativity and artistic expression in young men? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our thriving Art department in an independent boys' school with a strong arts tradition in West London. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in April 2025.

About the School:

Our school is a welcoming and supportive learning community where boys are encouraged to explore their artistic talents, develop their creative skills, and express themselves through a variety of art forms. We provide a stimulating and enriching environment where students can experiment with different media and techniques, develop their critical thinking skills, and appreciate the power of visual communication.

About the Art Department:

The Art department is a collaborative and vibrant team with a shared commitment to fostering students' artistic development and appreciation for the visual arts. We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of art forms, from painting and drawing to sculpture and digital media. We encourage students to explore their own artistic styles, develop their technical skills, and participate in exhibitions and competitions.

About the Role:

* Teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at GCSE and A Level depending on experience and interest.
* Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
* Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including demonstrations, workshops, gallery visits, and art history lectures, to inspire students' creativity and artistic expression.
* Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
* Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Art curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
* Foster a love of Art in students, encouraging them to explore different art forms and develop their own artistic voice.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
* Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Art education.
* Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, such as art clubs and exhibitions.

Ideal Candidate:

* Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Art and a passion for the visual arts.
* Demonstrates a passion for teaching Art and a commitment to student success.
* Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
* Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Art and relevant examination specifications.
* Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
* Offers a competitive salary (MPS/UPS + Outer London Weighting).
* Provides a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme and access to employee assistance programs.
* Offers excellent professional development opportunities, including subject-specific training in Art.
* Works in a supportive and collaborative environment where contributions are valued.
* Provides opportunities to contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and art exhibitions.
