Job Description
This position is based in Oxford. Responsibilities include:
* Assist with Quarterly VAT Returns and the annual Partial Exemption adjustment
* Prepare and post endowment gains/losses and movement journals on a monthly and quarterly basis
* Prepare and post nominal ledger journals, including depreciation and ad-hoc adjustments
* Review creditors, debtors, and balance sheet items, making adjustments as necessary
* Support month-end routines, including analysis of variances and commentary against budget
* Post pension scheme and subsidiary journals
* Assist with statutory year-end accounts and respond to audit queries
* Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports for budget holders and senior managers
* Help prepare cashflow forecasts
The Successful Applicant
You will be:
* A Qualified Accountant
* Able to commute daily into central Oxford
* Confident working with journals, reconciliations, and financial reporting independently
* Comfortable working to deadlines and managing multiple priorities
* Possessing strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software
* Having a good understanding of SORP
