Offer description

We are looking to appoint a receptionist/administrator to join our busy GP practice. You will be the first point of contact for patients, contractors, and visitors to the surgery. As well as covering Reception, you will carry out general administration tasks related to the work generated within a GP surgery.

Providing general assistance to the practice team and projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and visitors, either in person, electronically, or via the telephone.


Main duties of the job

Job Responsibilities:

* Administration: To have thorough knowledge of all Reception procedures and work in accordance with written protocols. Have general knowledge of Practice policies.
* Reception: Receiving patients, consulting with team members, handling repeat prescriptions, and checking names and addresses.
* Appointments: Processing appointment requests for today and future dates, and organizing home visits.
* Computer: Updating patient address and medical records in the system.
* Telephone: Having working knowledge of telephone/out-of-hours services during and after hours.
* Other Tasks: Ensuring building security during opening and closing, and performing other tasks as allocated by managers.


Personal/Professional Development

The post-holder will participate in training programs, including annual performance reviews, and take responsibility for their own development.
