New Directions Education is recruiting dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to work within Specialist Resource Bases in schools across Cardiff.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs in a more specialist, structured environment.
The Role
As an SRB Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Support pupils with a range of ALN, including ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, and SEMH
2. Work in small groups and on a 1:1 basis within the SRB setting
3. Assist with tailored learning activities and interventions
4. Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social skills
5. Help manage behaviour positively and consistently
6. Work closely with teachers, ALNCOs, and external professionals
What We’re Looking For
7. Experience working with children or young people with ALN, ideally in a specialist setting
8. A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
9. Confidence supporting behaviour and emotional needs
10. Strong communication and teamwork skills
11. A genuine passion for inclusive education
12. Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 TA or equivalent) are desirable
