Role Overview: The successful candidate will provide effective day-to-day leadership and management of the school, working closely with the Executive Headteacher. This pivotal role involves overseeing HR and leadership processes, driving school improvement, and ensuring compliance with independent school standards. You will champion safeguarding, behaviour management, attendance, and inclusion, supporting pupils with complex needs in a therapeutic educational environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the school's daily operations, deputising for the Executive Headteacher as required. Manage HR and leadership processes for all staff within the school. Drive school improvement initiatives aligned with independent school standards. Ensure consistent implementation of behaviour standards, safeguarding protocols, attendance, and punctuality. Take full responsibility for the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils. Foster positive relationships with parents, staff, and external agencies. Oversee the professional development of all staff and effectively deploy Teaching Assistants. Conduct regular reviews of school systems to ensure statutory compliance and continuous improvement. Be a champion of inclusion, leading colleagues in supporting children within an independent educational setting. Candidate Profile: Proven track record in school improvement and senior leadership. Current senior leader seeking the next challenge. Extensive knowledge of the OFSTED framework and independent school standards. Demonstrable leadership in safeguarding, curriculum planning, and staff management. Exceptional practitioner with the ability to improve teaching and learning. Strong leadership in behaviour management and ability to implement high standards across the school. Thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and experience supporting students with SEND. Working knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
