Position Overview
Darlington Borough Council is seeking a social worker to join the Adult Mental Health Team. This is a permanent, full-time position with a market supplement of £2,500 per annum (pro-rata for part-time hours), payable until 31.12.2025, subject to review.
The team provides social work services to adults aged 18+ with complex mental health needs, working proactively with service users, families, carers, and professionals. The role includes screening and completing Mental Health Act referrals, with an expectation to work towards qualification as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) if not already qualified.
Candidate Profile
We welcome both newly qualified and experienced social workers committed to strength-based practice. Candidates should possess assessment and care management skills and be passionate about making a difference. The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team in a co-located environment.
