You’ll be trusted to make decisions, negotiate properly, and take ownership of supplier relationships and spend.
What You’ll Be Doing
* You’ll be responsible for sourcing and purchasing meat and protein products, making sure supply meets demand while protecting margin.
* The role involves negotiating directly with suppliers, agreeing pricing and terms, and building relationships that give you an edge in the market.
* You’ll stay close to market movements, adjusting buying strategies based on pricing trends and availability, while identifying opportunities to reduce cost or improve supply.
* Working alongside sales and operations, you’ll ensure stock is in the right place at the right time, without unnecessary waste or overstock.
* You’ll also play a part in maintaining standards across the supply chain, ensuring products meet required quality and compliance expectations.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience buying meat or protein within a wholesale, retail, or FMCG environment
* Someone confident in negotiating — not just agreeing to prices, but challenging them
* A commercial mindset with a clear understanding of how buying decisions impact margin
* Awareness of how supply markets move, and the ability to react quickly when they do
* Experience working with suppliers at scale, including managing volume and supply continuity
* Comfortable making decisions under pressure and taking ownership of outcomes
* Strong relationship builder who can work both internally and externally
