Main Purpose of the Role & Responsibilities
As a Java Developer in Kainos, you’ll be responsible for developing high‑quality solution products that delight our Workday customers and impact the lives of users worldwide. You’ll do this while learning about new technologies and approaches, and working with talented colleagues who will help you grow.
Join a dynamic, cross‑functional team working closely with our Product department in an agile environment. You’ll have the opportunity to shape requirements, influence technical direction, and contribute to innovative AI projects, including implementing AI to support and enhance development workflows.
Minimum (essential) Requirements
* Experience of building and testing modern software applications.
* Experience in Java plus TypeScript.
* Familiar with AWS or Azure cloud services.
* Familiar with frameworks: Angular, Spring, Hibernate or Dropwizard.
* Familiar with database: SQL or NoSQL.
* Experience of applying common design principles and patterns.
* Experience of working in a collaborative team environment.
* Flexibility and the ability to overcome obstacles to achieve personal, team, and business goals.
* Active pursuit of better ways to do things using imagination to find fresh solutions to complex problems.
* Constructive approach when giving or receiving feedback, and transparent and truthful communication.
* Respectful treatment of others, encouraging, accepting and supportive of everyone you deal with.
* Sharing information, knowledge and experience, understanding the mutual benefits of team working.
Desirable
* Exposure to modern version control and Continuous Delivery pipeline techniques.
* Experience troubleshooting issues within development and test environments.
* Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate issues to technical and non‑technical people.
* Familiarity with the Workday ecosystem.
