Job Summary:
To design, prepare, and complete design and documentation packages including drawings in 3D CAD and PDM for Power Transformers. Support the Transformer Engineering Department to meet forecasted delivery and departmental objectives. Develop effective working relationships with customers by representing the engineering team and the company.
* Produce mechanical designs of transformers and reactors for up to 132kV transformers as per scope of work.
* Prepare manufacturing and customer drawings under the direction of Senior Engineer/Engineering Manager.
* Produce transformer assembly and general assembly drawings.
* Create bills of materials and upload them to the PDM system.
* Prepare tender general arrangement and tender documents.
* Check and approve supplier offers and drawings.
* Ensure all designs and technologies comply with relevant standards and codes.
* Collaborate with customers and the engineering team to meet specifications.
* Develop best practices for transformer designs and processes.
* Update and maintain design software such as Inventor and engineering drawings.
* Assist with continuous improvement and optimization of transformer designs.
* Maintain understanding of engineering processes, quality systems, and HSE requirements.
* Produce technical details for mechanical design for O&M manuals.
* Create technical datasheets and compliance documents for tendering.
* Prepare shipping lists for transformers and reactors.
* Support IT in maintaining CAD systems.
* Review scopes of work for projects to ensure technical accuracy.
* Support quality assurance in supplier development and inspections.
* Assist the purchasing department with parts list creation and ordering.
* Undertake CPD to maintain professional competence.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
* An accredited bachelor’s or honours degree in engineering or technology.
* A Higher National Diploma or Foundation Degree in engineering or technology, plus further learning to degree level.
* An approved Advanced/Modern Apprenticeship or equivalent work-based learning program.
* Qualification approved by a licensed professional engineering institution at level 3 or above.
* Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault.
* Experience with PDM systems is preferable.
* Good IT skills including MS Office suite.
* High standards of quality, precision, and consistency.

* Excellent organization, planning, and attention to detail.
* Strong teamwork and stakeholder management skills.
Experience:
* Mechanical design of power transformers and reactors up to 132kV and 120MVA.
* Relevant mechanical design experience in OEM or similar environments.
