Overview
Are you an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer? Do you have modern DevOps skills? Would you like to work for a global company who operate from prestigious offices in the centre of Glasgow? My client is looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to work with them on a permanent basis. It’s hybrid working, 3 days in the office and 2 from home. As they are a global company you need to be able to go on regular 7.30am Teams calls with your international colleagues.
Responsibilities
* Administer and support Azure IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid environments.
* Automate provisioning, deployment, and release of Azure resources using DevOps pipelines.
* Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to standardise and scale cloud operations.
* Monitor system health and performance of cloud-based applications and services.
* Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues, including security-related incidents.
* Manage incident and service request queues to meet SLAs and publish regular reports.
* Leverage AI Ops tools to automate incident detection, root cause analysis, and performance optimisation.
* Maintain internal documentation, CMDB entries, and knowledgebase articles.
* Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enhance cloud security posture.
* Apply and maintain Azure security policies aligned with ISO27001, NIST, CIS, Essential 8 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
* Provide guidance and training to colleagues transitioning from on-premise infrastructure roles.
Technical skills
* Extensive hands-on experience supporting Azure Cloud environments
* Strong knowledge of Azure IaaS and PaaS
* High level of security awareness and best practices
* Strong proficiency in Azure CLI, PowerShell, Bicep and DevOps tooling; or equivalent orchestration and automation expertise
* Experience with monitoring, logging, RBAC and Azure Policy
* Agile delivery experience, including working in Sprints and Retrospectives
* Familiarity with ITSM frameworks (incident, change, service request)
