We’re working with a supportive SEMH school looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school supports children with social, emotional and mental health needs and provides a structured, nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to re-engage with learning and build confidence. This is a full-time role where you’ll be working closely with class teachers and the wider team to support pupils on both a 1:1 and small group basis. Every day is different, and you’ll play a key role in helping pupils regulate, access learning and make progress both academically and emotionally. Responsibilities Support pupils with SEMH needs in and out of the classroom Work 1:1 and with small groups to support learning and engagement Help pupils regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively Assist the class teacher with planning, resources and classroom support Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage progress Requirements Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEN or challenging behaviour Calm, consistent and resilient approach Ability to build positive relationships quickly Strong communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for supporting pupils who need additional emotional and behavioural support If you’re looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.
