What you’ll do on a typical day:
Lead, support, and develop the team by setting goals, planning workloads, delegating tasks, providing performance feedback, and assisting with hiring and training
* Ensure smooth daily transport and yard operations by managing vehicle movements, maintaining accurate administration, and supporting the integrity of key TMS systems
* Champion excellent customer service and communication, including liaising with agencies, keeping teams informed of updates, attending calls, and addressing customer queries
* Drive compliance and safety standards by upholding GXO and customer-specific Health & Safety policies, assessing risks, supporting H&S investigations, and ensuring environmental responsibilities are met
* Support continuous improvement and operational excellence by working to KPI expectations, identifying improvement opportunities, and contributing to productivity, accuracy, and performance targets
What you need to succeed at GXO:
Proven transport office experience with strong administration skills, high accuracy, and confidence using Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
* Able to perform under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and adapt working hours when needed, with a self‑motivated and proactive approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and interact effectively at all levels
* Willingness to travel to other GXO or customer sites for development or operational support, with a desire to progress within the department
* Good understanding of transport compliance, including Drivers’ Working Time Directive and EU Regulations, with desirable experience in management and TMS systems
