Assembly Fitter - Cookstown An opportunity has arisen for an Assembly Fitter to join a well-established engineering operation in the Cookstown area. This hands-on role will involve assembling, installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment used within industrial and mining environments. Working to high quality and safety standards, the successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring reliable and efficient plant operations. About the role:
1. Up to £17.00 per hour
2. Monday to Thursday (8am- 5pm) / Friday (8am- 2pm)
3. Department: Maintenance / Engineering
4. Permanent role
What you'll be doing in this role:
5. Assemble, install, align, and dismantle mechanical equipment such as pumps, conveyors, crushers, gearboxes, valves, and pipework
6. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
7. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems
8. Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs efficiently
9. Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments accurately
10. Carry out fabrication, fitting, and basic welding or cutting when required
11. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company procedures
What you'll need for this role:
12. Experience in mechanic fitting
13. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics
14. Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
15. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
