Who You Will Be Supporting
You will be supporting three individuals (two young gentlemen and one lady in her 40s-50s) with profound and multiple learning disabilities. They enjoy activities and social engagement with family and friends, hobbies, day trips, visiting local pubs, walking, shopping, meals out, football, cricket, and leading a healthy lifestyle. Their families are very involved in their care.
What You Will Be Doing
* Personal Care: Providing assistance with all aspects of personal care.
* Community Support: Offering shared support and 1:1 support when out in the community.
* Mobility Assistance: Supporting individuals who use wheelchairs and hoists.
* Meal Preparation: Preparing meals and supporting with dietary needs.
* Medication Administration: Ensuring residents receive their medication as prescribed.
* Household Tasks: Assisting with housework, shopping, cooking, budgeting, and attending health appointments.
* Emotional Support: Providing reassurance and managing behaviours positively.
Person Specification
* Enthusiastic, upbeat, compassionate, and kind.
* Strong communication: able to communicate clearly and confidently, noting that individuals may not use words to speak.
* Patient and caring: capable of advocating for the individuals and promoting healthy living.
* Friendly and approachable: enjoys engaging in activities and outings.
* Good sense of humor: able to bring joy and positivity to the environment.
* Organised and time-managed: efficient in managing tasks and time.
* Experience: Experienced with disabilities; comfortable working with individuals with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
Requirements
* DBS Disclosure: An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be covered by Dimensions.
