Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team in Yeovil, United Kingdom. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations.
* Assist in the general cleaning of the kitchen area, including floors, walls, and work surfaces
* Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring they are properly sanitised and stored
* Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks as needed
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
* Help with the receipt and storage of deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation
* Dispose of waste in accordance with established procedures
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods
* Perform regular deep cleaning tasks as scheduled
* Report any maintenance issues or equipment faults to the kitchen manager
Qualifications
* Previous experience working in a catering environment is preferred
* Good understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
* Strong attention to detail, ensuring thorough cleaning and proper food handling
* Team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
* Good customer service skills and a friendly demeanour
* Flexible approach to work, including willingness to work evenings and weekends
* Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
* Basic knowledge of proper food handling and storage procedures
* Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
* Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
