Transport Controller

Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Transport Controller to join a busy transport operation based in Westhill, Cumbernauld. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role suited to someone who is confident managing drivers, making operational decisions, and keeping a transport department running smoothly in the absence of senior management.
Key Responsibilities
Controlling and coordinating drivers to ensure all deliveries and collections are completed safely, efficiently and on time
Acting as the first point of contact for drivers during shifts
Making real-time decisions to resolve issues such as delays, vehicle breakdowns or route changes
Monitoring driver hours, tachographs and compliance using systems such as Tachomaster
Ensuring all transport operations comply with legal, safety and company requirements
Maintaining accurate records and reporting any issues to management
The Ideal Candidate
You will be an experienced transport professional who:
Has strong knowledge of transport operations and driver compliance
Is confident using Tachomaster or similar tachograph systems
Can manage, support and control drivers in a busy environment
Is able to work independently and take responsibility when senior management are not on site
Remains calm and organised under pressure
Has excellent communication and decision-making skills
Working Hours
5 days over 7 on a rota basis
Rotating shifts:
6am – 2pm
2pm – 10pm
10pm – 6am
