We are seeking candidates who are AAT qualified / studying and who have previous practice experience working within management accounts or bookkeeping and who have experience of VAT returns and payroll. The ideal individual will have strong interpersonal skills, an outgoing personality and will work well in a small friendly team environment. £28,000 - £38,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications Study support for the right candidate 20 days annual holiday plus bank holidays Statutory pension (enhanced after 1 year service) Duties and Responsibilities: Management Accountant Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of clients Produce profit and loss statements, balance sheets, variance analysis, and KPI reporting Complete budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow modelling Review client bookkeeping and ensure accuracy of ledgers and reconciliations Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements Assist with year‑end accounts preparation and liaise with auditors where required Support clients with accounting system implementation and process improvements Bookkeeper Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients Process sales and purchase invoices, receipts, and payments Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and control accounts Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers Liaise with clients to obtain information, resolve queries, and provide updates Support year‑end accounts preparation by ensuring ledgers are complete and accurate Maintain organised digital records and ensure all work meets practice standards Skills and experience required: AAT / ACCA part qualified or QBE 2 years experience in an accounting position within practice in a similar role Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, VLOOKUP) Experience with accounting software - Xero, Quick Books, Sage desired Good working knowledge of accounting procedures Extremely organised and self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills, able to work in a small team
