Summary
As an Business Service Assistant, you'll be involved in lots of different tasks as you support the day-to-day running of the office. This is a busy and varied job; no two days will be the same. You’ll have an important part to play in your team meeting its goals, so you’ll always be looking at how you can offer help where needed.
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.
What it's like to work here
You’ll report to the Facilities and Support Services Manager, supporting the South Downs West Countryside Team at our Pound Common Office in Midhurst, and you'll provide administrative support specifically to the countryside team. The team consists of six rangers, three fully immersive volunteers, the farm team (Farm Manager and Farm Worker), and a wider cohort of countryside volunteers. The administrative focus will therefore be countryside‑orientated, supporting operational delivery, coordination, compliance tasks, and the day‑to‑day needs of a busy, restore nature focused team.
What you'll be doing
You’ll be helping to run a business service for the wider team that is efficient, proactive and flexible. Your responsibilities will include responding to public enquiries, maintaining accurate electronic and paper records, supporting the Ranger team with financial tracking, and assisting the Facilities Manager with compliance and environmental monitoring and other general administrative tasks.
