Housekeeper Job Description Marcilly Recruitment’s UHNW client is seeking an experienced and warm Housekeeper for their beautiful Berkshire residence. This can be a live in or live out role. Role: Live-in/ Live out Housekeeper Location: Berkshire Contract: 12-month contract with view to long-term employment Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 3:00pm -Flexibility required for evenings and weekends when the family are in residence. Accommodation: Live-in accommodation is available (a private cottage with countryside views). Alternatively, a local live-out candidate will be considered, provided they are happy to stay overnight when house-sitting is required. Salary: £35,000 pa DOE Start date : April 2026 A full, clean UK driving licence is essential The successful candidate will help create a happy, organised and welcoming home environment and will take pride in maintaining the property to an exceptionally high standard. The Principals do not reside at the property year-round, therefore flexibility is required during periods when the family are in residence. This is a long-term opportunity for a loyal, trustworthy and self-motivated individual. Key Responsibilities: Housekeeping & Property Care Cleaning the property to an exceptionally high standard: including polishing silver, caring for fine fabrics and furniture Quarterly deep cleaning when the family are not in residence Preparing the property prior to the family’s arrival and maintaining standards whilst they are in residence – such as: Bed making and daily reset routines Laundry, ironing and wardrobe management Managing all dry-cleaning and seamstress requirements Flower arranging and general home presentation Household Management Ensuring household supplies are fully stocked Planning and organising weekly shopping in line with the principals’ movements Managing incoming packages and deliveries Arranging regular shipments to international properties Ensuring the property is alarmed and secured when unoccupied Liaison & Coordination Liaising with the EA regarding household maintenance, repairs and deliveries with contractors and service providers Managing required servicing at the property Transport & Errands Running local errands and shopping Arranging taxis and transport Collecting family from the train station and occasional airport runs Hospitality (when in residence) Lunch service clear-down Light cooking desirable but not essential Candidate Requirements: Previous experience working within a private household Absolute discretion and confidentiality at all times Fluent English (spoken and written) Proactive, organised and self-motivated Cheerful, friendly and professional demeanour Valid UK driving licence Kind, communicative and flexible attitude Marcilly Recruitment is a boutique London and Dubai based recruitment agency specialising in business operational and administrative support and private household recruitment in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
