Job Description
A world-class advanced electronics manufacturer who support several key sectors are urgently seeking an experienced Buyer with proven knowledge of electronics manufacturing to join their procurement team in Newport.
* Role: Buyer (Full Time)
* Pay: Competitive annual salary
* Location: Newport
* Working Pattern: Fully onsite
As a Buyer you will manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely procurement of materials and services essential to manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and develop relationships with assigned suppliers
* Negotiate pricing, terms and agreements to secure best-value supply
* Analyse, review and report on supplier price changes
* Identify and introduce alternative suppliers and materials where beneficial
* Ensure purchasing requisitions reflect accurate lead times
* Escalate and resolve supply issues that may impact production
* Minimise exposure to MOQs and price increases
* Ensure compliance with company codes of conduct, import/export and legal requirements
* Keep excess, cost and stock levels under tight control
This is a critical role within the purchasing team, supporting production, quality, planning and engineering to ensure a smooth, cost-effective and reliable supply chain.
Key Requirements:
* Knowledge of electronics manufacturing and components
* Proven purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Able to work independently and take full ownership of tasks
* Proactive, analytical and commercially focused
* Strong IT skills
* CIPS qualified (desirable)
