As a Machine Borer, you will be responsible for the following:
1. Operate all types of boring machines to precision standards
2. Work independently, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills
3. Read, interpret, and apply information from technical drawings
4. Take ownership of your tasks and contribute to team responsibilities
5. Possess a solid understanding of horizontal boring practices
6. Accurately measure using the imperial system
7. Adhere to all company procedures, including OHM, CMM, and SOPM standards
8. Maintain awareness of environmental responsibilities as outlined in company policies
9. Keep your Practical Experience Record (PER) book up to date
10. Provide training to other personnel when required, depending on your qualifications and experience
11. Always work in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company protocols
The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:
12. GCSE-level education or equivalent
13. Fluent in written and spoken English
14. Machining background essential; CNC and aerospace experience desirable
15. Knowledge of horizontal boring machines a plus
16. Familiar with machine shop practices and basic IT systems
17. Able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy aircraft components
