Managing Associate - Commercial Contracts (7+ PQE) - Bristol

Salary: £85,000 - £110,000 (DOE)
A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Managing Associate to join its highly regarded Commercial team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a top-tier practice advising major UK and international clients on complex, high-value commercial matters across a wide range of sectors.
The Role
You’ll be involved in a broad range of commercial work, supporting strategic projects and day-to-day business operations. Responsibilities include:
* Leading on complex commercial contracts (procurement, outsourcing, supply chain, product development)
* Advising on contract strategy, drafting, negotiation and risk management
* Delivering clear, pragmatic, commercially focused advice
* Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
* Supervising and developing junior lawyers
* Supporting business development and contributing to international growth
* Working on multi-jurisdictional matters, with opportunities for international secondments
You’ll work closely with clients’ in-house teams in a collaborative, embedded style while benefiting from the breadth of private practice expertise.
Candidate Requirements
* UK qualification (England, Wales or Scotland)
* 7+ years’ PQE in commercial contracts
* Strong experience advising on complex, high-value transactions
* Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
* Ability to lead matters and deliver practical advice to non-lawyers
* Experience supervising and mentoring junior team members
* Strong commercial awareness and problem solving ability
* Confidence managing multiple complex matters independently
* Experience in international contracting, tech, IP or data protection is advantageous.
* This position offers a clear progression pathway towards Legal Director or Partnership.
