Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Band 3 HCSW) at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Role in East Coast Day Surgery Team covering elective day surgery on Haldane and Lloyd ward, supporting pre‑operative assessment and assisting with benign non‑surgical urological treatments on Scarborough and Bridlington sites.
Monday‑Friday daytime service with optional paid weekend initiatives.
Responsibilities include providing Band 3 tasks (blood taking, 12‑lead ECG, patient observations) and supporting other areas as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high quality patient care and support across the East Coast Day Surgery unit.
* Perform Band 3 tasks such as blood taking, 12‑lead ECG and patient observations.
* Offer compassionate, helpful and courteous care to patients, relatives and visitors at all times.
* Represent the Trust positively, promoting corporate image and public confidence.
* Maintain clear professional boundaries with patients and their families.
* Respectfully communicate with colleagues, promoting open trust and respect.
* Fluently cover other clinical areas where service demand increases.

Qualifications & Requirements
* Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker qualification.
* Capable of performing blood taking, 12‑lead ECG and patient observations.
* Kind, compassionate, hardworking attitude.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Willingness to work flexible hours and cover additional clinical areas.
