Overview
North Lanarkshire Council, one of Scotland’s largest local authorities, is leading an ambitious regeneration program for its town centres and surrounding areas. The Enterprise and Communities service plays a key role in guiding this regeneration toward sustainable development.
Responsibilities
* Implement, coordinate, monitor and report on Health and Safety activities across various construction and engineering contracts.
* Ensure compliance with current CDM regulations and provide H&S advice and guidance throughout the service.
* Contribute to the management processes and controls that monitor contracts, carry out audit activity, and deliver data analysis on contract activity.
* Produce contract documentation and incident/accident reports for senior management.
* Develop and implement service‑specific policies, risk assessments, safe systems of work, compile pre‑construction information, and review contractor construction-phase plans and risk assessments.
* Collaborate with the council’s Management team to support delivery of the council’s priority outcomes, implement the business plan, and improve services to reflect local community and stakeholder needs.
* Travel throughout the North Lanarkshire area as required.
Qualifications
* HND/SVQ Level 4, Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
* Eligible to work towards membership of IOSH.
* In‑depth knowledge of the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015.
Key Requirements & Travel
Travel throughout the North Lanarkshire area is required to support contracts and site visits.
Work Pattern
Work pattern:
35 hours per week. Monday – Thursday: 08:45 am – 16:45 pm (55‑minute unpaid break)
Friday: 08:45 am – 16:15 pm (50‑minute unpaid break)
