The ideal Heavy Equipment Mechanic will maintain and repair company equipment, including vehicles, cranes, boats, and trailers, as well as small engine repair. Repairs are performed on-site and in the shop.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Small engine, vehicle, diesel engine, and boat repair, and general repair on company equipment.
* Maintain shop and all tools and equipment used in repair.
* Inspect equipment regularly.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Knowledge of small engine, gasoline engine, diesel engine, and boat repair.
* Ability to work with hand tools and power tools.
Education and Experience:
* 3-5 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in the construction industry.
* Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, as well as small engine repair.
* Valid Driver's License.
* 5-7 years of experience as a mechanic, with at least 2 years in marine construction preferred.
Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
* Climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc.
* Work in construction and marine site environments with potential hazards.
* Work in small and enclosed spaces.
* Move about the worksite, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, and stretching.
* Perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.
* Operate machinery and power tools.
* Operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
* Work in extreme weather conditions.
* Respond quickly to dangerous situations and noises.
