A vibrant and inclusive secondary school, seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. This role is ideal for someone with experience working with young people who present challenging behaviour and require consistent, structured support.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers and the pastoral team to support pupils who may struggle to engage with learning due to behavioural or emotional needs. Your role will be vital in helping these students to succeed both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with behavioural difficulties.
* Promote positive behaviour and help implement individual behaviour plans.
* Support classroom management and lesson delivery under the guidance of the teacher.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
* Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies to support student development.
About You:
* Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs (desirable).
* A patient, empathetic, and consistent approach.
* Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
* Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage challenging situations professionally.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or similar) are desirable but not essential.
