An exciting opportunity has arisen for the Team Leader role in Orthopaedics and Trauma within theatres at our Southend site. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Theatre Manager on both the management and development of our brilliant team.
Responsibilities
 * Leading and supporting the orthopaedics and trauma team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
 * Collaborating with the Theatre Manager to implement and maintain best practices.
 * Overseeing the day‑to‑day operations within the orthopaedics and trauma department.
 * Providing mentorship and guidance to team members to foster professional growth and development.
 * Initiating and participating in the communication process to facilitate development of a supportive, cohesive team.
 * Providing and receiving complex and sensitive information.
 * Ensuring issues regarding practice education are addressed and communicated to all team members.
 * Providing clinical and educational advice, guidance, and support to all staff.
 * Taking a lead role in defining, implementing, and evaluating care standards within theatres.
 * Demonstrating assertiveness and challenging others when the rights of patients and others may be infringed.
 * Reporting all accidents, hazards, incidents, and complaints in accordance with Trust policies, assisting in investigations when required.
 * Providing strong professional leadership to enhance quality of care and boost staff morale.
 * Holding regular meetings with the team to ensure effective communication and provide updates.
 * Providing sound clinical leadership and developing support mechanisms for sharing good practice within the department and Trust‑wide.
 * Maintaining and promoting effective communication within teams and all members of the multi‑disciplinary team.
 * Ensuring timely escalation of issues to Theatre Matron / Theatre Manager.
