IT Support / Cyber Support Engineer will assist in the implementation and ongoing support of secure cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
This position plays a key role in cybersecurity monitoring and the enforcement of security policies. While this role will act as a central point of contact for cloud and cybersecurity matters, it will be closely supported by a senior engineer and external consultants engaged on an ad hoc or project basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the configuration and support of secure cloud services (e.g. Azure, Microsoft 365).
* Monitor cybersecurity tools and controls under the direction of senior colleagues.
* Support the rollout and enforcement of security policies such as MFA and endpoint protection.
* Provide support on IT projects, system upgrades, and internal documentation.
* Perform routine system health checks and support incident response activities.
* Support scheduled backups and recovery testing procedures.
* Respond to helpdesk enquiries across multiple UK locations.
* Provide occasional support to international locations as the organisation grows globally (some international travel may be required).
* Maintain disaster recovery documentation and assist with relevant tools.
* Engage in continuous learning of cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity best practices, and network technologies.
* Gain familiarity with the organisation's operational IT environment, including manufacturing or production-related systems if relevant.
* Exposure to Microsoft Azure services (e.g. VMs, Intune, Entra ID).
* Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security configurations.
* Basic scripting knowledge, preferably using PowerShell.
* Awareness of compliance frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001.
* Foundational networking knowledge (e.g. TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs).
