An opportunity has arisen within the powertrain systems development team as the company accelerates its introduction of clean and energy-efficient propulsion systems. We serve an international customer base with state-of-the-art technologies, and you will form part of a cross-functional team that is working on state-of-the-art as well as future carbon-free fuel systems. You will act as the dedicated NVH expert within a global team working within engineering. Previous fuel injection equipment NVH experience is highly desirable, however relevant engineers or technicians working towards this expertise will also be considered. In return you will gain a thorough experience of working in a global tier 1 automotive supplier, have exposure to wide-ranging engineering expertise at all levels within the business and grow a broad understanding of key product development requirements through the full product development life cycle. Key Responsiblites * Lead NVH activities in coordination with OEM customers to measure, analyse and test Automotive FIE components. * Act as a subject matter expert on NVH issues, supporting the engineering teams in the UK and globally. * Support the test labs with test set-up and running of Conduct vibration tests on hardware and subsystems using electrodynamic shakers and other test rigs. * Translate technical specifications into practical test setups. * Operate and maintain test equipment and data acquisition systems. * Analyse vibration data to identify structural weaknesses, fatigue risks, and performance issues. * Perform noise and induced vibration tests using semi anechoic chamber and accelerometers and analyse results against internal and customer specifications. * Document test procedures and results * Lead discussions with customers, engineering teams and stakeholders to share findings and results. * Collaborate with design engineers to develop design solutions to NVH issues. * Support product development by validating prototypes and production units. * Ensure testing adheres to relevant standards (e.g., MIL, SAE, ISO). * Maintain calibration and certification of test equipment. * Diagnose faults, using a known structured approach (5 whys) of mechanical/electrical issues on the units-under-test. * Maintain quality systems, contribute to risk assessments, and work on instructions * Follow lab safety procedures and support the continuous improvement of safe working. Education * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. * Experience in NVH testing or environmental testing. * Proficiency in NVH analysis tools (e.g., LMS Test.Lab, Brüel & Kjær, HBM) and shaker controllers. * Knowledge of modal analysis, signal analysis, and fatigue analysis * Knowledge of industry standards related to NVH measurement and analysis (ISO7344/16750) What we offer We provide compensation and benefits programs intended to attract, motivate, reward, and retain an incredibly talented, globally diverse workforce at all levels within our organisation.
