Wedding & Event Setup Assistant – Seasonal, Freelance As Required
In-person | Based in Aberdeen & shire
We are a growing local business providing wedding and event set ups across the North East of Scotland. We’re looking for reliable, hands-on individuals to join our small team in helping create wedding & event setups. The plan for team TAC (that's what we call ourselves for short!) is to build a team of people so the weekend work is shared throughout the month. This is a physical, on-the-go role that involves preparing, transporting, and setting up wedding & event decor at venues.
The role is Freelance and the hours will vary week to week. Given most of our events are weddings the work is seasonal and will be busiest between April to October. There may be limited work offered during November to March. Most of our weddings & events occur on weekends and require early morning starts. We anticipate that during our busy months you may be offered up to 12 hours per week however this is a guide only. The role is perfect for someone looking for flexible, casual weekend work and who is not reliant on a fixed monthly income.
Your Role:
Behind the Scenes:
* Help maintain a well organised and tidy warehouse
* Prepare items for upcoming weddings & events
* Load and unload stock into the vehicles
* Clean and organise stock after events
On the Day:
* Travel to venues and assist with unloading and setting up of decor items
* Support with turnarounds (e.g., transforming the ceremony space into a reception for weddings)
* Assist with the take down after weddings & events
* Occasionally help with exhibitions/open days
What We’re Looking For
* Physically fit and capable of manual lifting (some items are heavy)
* Available to work flexibly on an ad-hoc basis, on weekends mainly
* Punctual, with good timekeeping and communication
* Focus on professionalism when interacting with clients, fellow suppliers and venue staff
* A team player with a positive attitude and a good eye for detail
* Someone who takes pride in their work, follows direction well, and can also work independently
* Legal right to work in the UK
* Preferred, but not essential - Full Clean UK Driving Licence
If you would like to join our small but fun team please get in touch with any questions & send your CV to Emma & Jamie at info@thoughtsandcrosses.co.uk
