Are you a dedicated and strategic SENCO with a passion for inclusive education and ensuring every student can succeed? We are seeking a qualified teacher with QTS and a strong commitment to SEND provision to join our excellent secondary school in Ilford as SENCO.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage SEND provision across the school in line with the SEND Code of Practice
* Identify, assess, and support students with a range of additional needs, ensuring appropriate provision and progress
* Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), EHCPs, and support strategies
* Work closely with teaching staff to promote inclusive, high-quality classroom practice
* Line-manage support staff and contribute to their professional development
* Liaise effectively with parents/carers, external professionals, and local authorities
* Advise senior leaders on SEND strategy and contribute to whole-school improvement
Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to complete it
* Experience supporting students with a wide range of SEND at secondary level
* Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills
* Committed to inclusive practice and high expectations for all learners
* Collaborative and contributes positively to school culture
