2 x Mechanical Maintenance Engineers sought by a recycling facility in Runcorn. This subsidiary of an international, £multibillion turnover plastics manufacturer is focused on growing the circular economy and they see innovation within PVC recycling as pivotal to their global sustainability strategy. This is a permanent role on weekly rotating shifts, 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm, known formally within the business as Mechanical Engineer. However, you will be working days during your probationary period. Shifts and shift allowance will apply after completion of probation. The Role: As Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all plant machinery, via proactive and reactive maintenance. Key responsibilities include: Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment Respond to breakdowns and conduct reactive repairs to restore equipment to full working order promptly Diagnose mechanical faults using root cause analysis and fault-finding techniques Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble mechanical components (gears, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, etc.) Read and interpret mechanical drawings, maintenance manuals, and engineering documentation Maintain accurate maintenance records, including logs of work done, parts used, and downtime Support continuous improvement initiatives to redu...
