We’re looking for an experienced and motivated colleague to step into the role of Driver Training Instructor. This is a fantastic opportunity to move from being “on the road” into a role where you can share your knowledge, shape our driver standards, and play a key part in keeping Calor safe and compliant. About the Role As Driver Training Instructor, you’ll be the specialist responsible for managing and delivering all driver training in the region. You’ll design, develop, and deliver engaging training sessions, provide expert technical and safety guidance to drivers and Transport Managers, and ensure our drivers remain compliant with both Calor policies and industry regulations. You’ll also have the chance to: Coach and mentor drivers and apprentices, supporting them through their training journey. Work alongside the Driver Training & Compliance Manager (DTCM) to shape national driver standards and develop bespoke CPC courses. Lead classroom and on-road training sessions, ensuring drivers are equipped to deliver safely and effectively. Audit training activity, driver standards, and tachograph compliance, offering live solutions where needed. Represent your region at national working groups and deputise for the DTCM when required. This is a role that makes a visible difference—helping us maintain high standards, supporting colleagues across the business, and ensuring safety remains at the heart of everything we do. What We’re Looking For Essential skills & experience: Current and experienced HGV driver with a Cat C&E licence. Ability to design, deliver, and adapt training to meet business needs. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage drivers, managers, and senior stakeholders. A positive, proactive approach with great attention to detail. Willingness to travel within the region and occasionally nationally. Commitment to Calor’s safety culture, leading by example at all times. Desirable skills & qualifications (training can be supported): Teaching or training qualification (e.g. Level 3 in Education & Training). Experience within the LPG industry. CPC in Road Haulage (National/International). Counterbalance / Moffett FLT qualification. Knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations. Why Apply? This is an exciting development opportunity for an experienced Calor driver who wants to build on their driving expertise and step into a leadership and training role. You’ll have the chance to influence how we train and support our drivers, work with colleagues across the UK, and play a key role in keeping Calor at the forefront of safety and compliance in the industry. If you’re passionate about safety, skilled behind the wheel, and keen to share your knowledge with others, we’d love to hear from you.
