Qualification requirements: Applicants for this role must have RSCN/RN (Child Branch) - Diploma or Degree, Registered Learning Disability Nurse, RGN or RN Adult and have two years' post-qualification experience of working with children with complex needs. You will be based at the Dorset Hospice and Care Office and work across Dorset in the homes of the children we look after. Team Nurses get the chance to spend time with the children and their families, developing strong relationships with families and meeting their individual needs. You will have the ability to work both in a team and independently and work using your own initiative as well as accessing and contributing to the skill base of the wider team. You will work with a team of Carers, Nursing Associates, Nurses, Team Nurses, Senior Team Nurses and Lead Nurses in a supportive environment. As a Team nurse you will responsible for the delivery of high quality clinical nursing care to meet the diverse individual needs of the children and young people. You will have experience in clinical nursing assessment, planning and delivering care which will be evidence based in conjunction with Julia’s House policies and procedures to deliver safe care to children and young people with complex needs that will often change. You will feel confident in using your clinical judgement and making autonomous decisions about nursing care requirements. You will participate in an on call rota system to provide telephone advice for staff and families. You will have Day-to-day management of the client base, including the deployment, supervision and teaching of Care Team members. You will have opportunities to broaden your skills with excellent training and development. This role is a 35 hours per week permanent contract and a full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes are essential; and all positions are subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check. Flexibility will be required to cover days, evenings, weekends and occasional nights. There are no set hours for contracted staff, our care is provided at the times requested by our families and is therefore variable.
