The role of a Business Support Officer involves a great deal of multitasking. The School Planning and Policy team have the main responsibility for the administration of Personal Travel Budgets, which are payments made to parents/carers of children eligible for travel assistance who have chosen to make their own travel arrangements. The team are also be required to support the School Organisation team who are responsible for pupil planning. This will involve administrative support where: schools are converting to Academies; schools have requested changes to the Published Admissions Numbers, which requires public consultation; or where new housing developments necessitate the building of a new school. Typical duties will include: Maintaining and monitoring all financial / administrative systems including Unit 4 Processing payments using either pre-payment cards or a postback and Excelerator Responding to all internal and external communications sensitively and diplomatically Creating or amending communication (letters/email templates/information leaflets) to ensure information remains accurate and Plain English is used Organising meetings, workshops and events.
