About the role
During an exciting period of growth, we are offering an opportunity for a SOC Analyst to join the Node4 Group. In this role, you will help customers respond to and manage cybersecurity incidents, including compromise assessments, live incident response, and digital forensics. The ideal candidate will have a technical background, with experience or education in a SecOps environment, and be able to react to alerts and suspicious activities.
Our SOC analysts monitor security incidents, classify them, and act as trusted advisors to suggest improvements or new capabilities for detection, prevention, and recovery from cyber incidents.
Please Note:
To be considered, applicants must meet the following essential criteria:
* Security Clearance: You must be eligible for SC Clearance, requiring residence in the UK for the past 5 years.
* Location: You must live within a 1-hour commute of our Derby office, as weekly on-site presence is required.
Applicants who do not meet both criteria will not be considered.
What will you bring?
* At least 12 months experience in a SOC environment (or equivalent) using SIEM/EDR
* Strong time-management and organizational skills
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, becoming a trusted advisor
* Solid understanding of IT and networking fundamentals
* Proficiency in writing SIEM queries and threat hunting
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, suitable for varied audiences including senior management
Responsibilities
* Preparing and presenting high-quality monthly reports for clients, integrating data from multiple security platforms with insights and recommendations
* Assisting Level 1 analysts with alert triage and escalation
* Developing and refining report templates and components based on client feedback
* Supporting training and mentorship for junior analysts
* Proactively suggesting improvements for existing SIEM alarms and developing new use-cases based on threat intelligence
* Creating and enhancing SOC dashboards for real-time visibility
* Onboarding new clients, deploying technical resources, and coordinating with engineers
* Producing and maintaining documentation
