Simply Education is currently seeking a resilient and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school. This full-time position is ideal for someone passionate about making a real impact on the lives of young people with additional needs.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH and additional learning needs
* Assist in managing challenging behaviour with a positive, therapeutic approach
* Work alongside the class teacher to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
* Help students develop social skills, emotional regulation, and independence
* Support the implementation of individual learning and behaviour plans
* What We are Looking For:
* Some experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH needs
* High levels of resilience, patience, and empathy
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Full-time availability (Monday-Friday, term time)
* A genuine passion for helping children succeed despite challenges
* Requirements:
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Simply Education)
* Right to work in the UK
* References to cover the last two years of employment or education
