About the role
The Controls Calibration Technician ensures plant and equipment across Nottingham meet safety, reliability, and GMP standards. The role involves continuous improvement, technical fault-finding, and supporting manufacturing development to meet customer service, quality, and cost targets.
Responsibilities
1. Provide calibration services across the site, managing planned activities on manufacturing equipment and control systems.
2. Ensure resources are available for systematic engineering approaches to improve performance.
3. Manage calibration, improvement, and breakdown investigations.
4. Monitor plant efficiency and identify improvement opportunities.
5. Escalate performance issues promptly via quality systems.
6. Participate in maintenance planning meetings.
7. Maintain plant equipment to GMP standards.
8. Coordinate with maintenance and operations on preventative and corrective actions.
9. Maintain detailed validation records of calibration activities.
Experience required
* Significant experience as a Controls Technician, especially in calibration within a pharmaceutical or similar environment.
* Knowledge of manufacturing and packing processes, cGMP, instrumentation, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
* Practical experience in operation and maintenance of large facilities, ideally in pharma.
* Ability to document accurately and write audit-ready reports.
* Understanding of UK and global regulatory standards.
